Daily journal, December 21, 1997 - William Thompson. This Sunday morning I woke up on the beach at this cheap old motel now operated by an Indian family. I need only to step down onto the pretty sandy beach and take a walk. If I fall I cannot get hurt. There is something great about this place because of the wind and sand and because it will be 80 degrees here today. I can't believe it only cost $18.00 per night and it’s clean and convenient. Being free to be here is great therapy for me. I free my mind and meditate on this art issue. Why am I here and what can one person do? After breakfast I watched CBS Sunday Morning because I always seem to learn from it and they have great art shown. To get my car packed just inches from my door and drive up I-95 to exit 95 50 miles takes till 1pm. I wanted to see the church right across from the Fort, its Pentecostal independent of the denomination I grew up in. The morning service was over so I drove to the rear of the church where living quarters are and a lady came out to meet me, she was the daughter of the deceased founder and said the church is very weak in members now but invited me to their services. I then revisited the store next door where Richard has his art. This store is run by Millie Daniel selling large eggs and milk, she paints art also. Millie is originally from Georgia and a very smart person. She wants also to move inside the Fort but she may be better off where she now is. Through the night I suffer at this mountain of opportunity with something telling me not to do it but just hang free. It is said that "there is no strength without a struggle". By now it is 3pm and I remember the awful good Seafood Kitchen across the waterway bridge and their oyster stew and fried oyster dinners. I enjoyed it but begin to feel sick soon after eating and soon checked into another motel on I-95 to contain myself. It is me that is weak from a 3 week cold and not the fault of the food. I do know however that I must stop eating this good sorry foods I want better food for me, especially me. In the room I watched 60 minutes another must watch weekly. Tonight it was the arming of the police departments across the nation. It was ask what are they planning to do start a war? We live in very uncertain times when guns rule. We live in a police state. I think we need to start over and redefine the constitution and apply it to freedom. The governments have become too heavy a burden in our daily lives. (The end is near) Psalms 37-1,"Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against" This ideal spot to state my case could fade away quickly if I deny faith and fail to act to claim my vision and stand tall to use this property for a Christian cause. Spiritual visual art is now my life but still there is reality we must consider. How can I put this together? If it is meant to be, then it will happen. This project must not be controlled by greed or any quick return hawker’s eager to set the style and pace. Tradition has no answers here. Tradition has failed for this beautiful real estate. What is wrong? "The workers of inquity.2-For they shall soon be cut down like the grass and" When I think of the church, I think of the past. The church is not separated from the state and has never been except certain preferred churches or religious institutions. The one world church today is coming fast and these people worship not God. I see an outdoor church standing on the ground and doing the work. May Gods will be done. "Wither as the green herb.3-Trust in the Lord, and do good, so shall thou dwell" The New Testament Church today is in the hearts and lives of people. False doctrine in the interpretation of scripture is widespread. Truth by visual art is the way to go. Our deeds should be open before the eyes of the world. Our worship should be unto the living God and not any idol. Life is a real miracle. I was spared many close calls to serve the highest God. Satan tries to kill us daily, watch and pray daily. "In the land, and verily thou shall be fed.4-Delight thyself also in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart." Praise the Lord God. Dear Lord, make us aware of thy presence daily and protect us from evil.
